HCC Trustee Wilson begins service, pending civil trial

A restraining order prohibiting HCC trustee David Wilson from assuming his office was withdrawn allowing Mr. Wilson to start his term as HCC trustee. Wilson, a conservative activist, gained national attention for running and winning in predominately African American and solidly Democratic District 2, by implying in campaign materials he was African American. At issue is whether the address Wilson used to claim residency is a commercial property or not. Wilson, 67, says he lives in a 1,140-square-foot upstairs apartment in an 11,340-square-foot metal warehouse at 3400 W. 34th Street. Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan sued Wilson citing evidence Wilson doesn’t live at the commercial address.
